Police resume search for body of girl murdered 11 years ago

Police in the North searching for the body of murdered Tyrone girl Arlene Arkinson have said they will carry out further searches.

They say they will spend two days on the search but deny that they are acting on any new information.

The 15-year-old school girl disappeared eleven years ago after she attended a disco in Co. Donegal.

She is believed to have been with a man, Robert Howard, who has a string of sexual convictions going back to 1964.

Another man convicted of murdering English girl Hannah Williams was later acquitted of Arlene’s murder.

Her body was never found despite searches on both sides of the border.
