The Irish Hospitality Institute has called on hotel and restaurant managers to provide better training and support structures for migrant workers.

The institute said today that foreign staff already made up one-third of employees in the hospitality industry and this figure would rise in the coming years.

It said better training and supports were needed to help Irish firms attract and retain these workers in the face of competition from other countries.
