Paisley: IRA decommissioning a 'con job'
DUP leader Ian Paisley has reiterated his scepticism about the destruction of IRA arms after meeting with the head of the decommissioning body today.
Yesterday, Dr Paisley rejected the significance of the move due to the lack of photographic evidence.
His comments came despite the IRA's decision to allow a Catholic and Protestant clergymen to witness the destruction of its arsenal.
Speaking after today's meeting, the DUP leader said none of his questions had been answered satisfactorily.
He claimed the two clergymen had effectively been appointed by the IRA and could not be called independent.
Dr Paisley also claimed the Irish and British governments' estimates of the size of the IRA arsenal were imprecise and open to interpretation.
He said the more the searchlight was shone on IRA decommissioning, the more it seemed like a "con job".
