Sligo murder: Six arrested

Gardaí investigating the murder of a 26-year-old man on a busy street in Sligo town earlier this year arrested six people this afternoon.

The three men and three women with Sligo addresses were taken in this morning. They are aged between 19 and 27.

Hughie McGinley from Connaughton Road in Sligo town was shot in the head in front of his partner and child by the pillion passenger of a motorbike in April.

The six people have been detained at various garda stations in Sligo and Leitrim.
