Ahern insists Gardaí are not losing battle on crime

The Taoiseach, Bertie Ahern has dismissed claims that the Gardaí are losing the battle on organised crime.

The Labour party said this morning that efforts to tackle gangland activity were obviously failing given the assassination of a known drug dealer in west Dublin yesterday.
