The average price for a litre of petrol in Ireland has risen by 12.3 cent in the past year, according to a new survey.

A nationwide survey of almost 250 petrol and diesel outlets carried out on 29 and 30 August 2005 by Consumer Affairs inspectors has also pointed to a 15.8 cent diesel price hike.
