Minister urges council to save 1916 refuge

Minister for the Environment Dick Roche entered the debate on Dublin’s No 16 Moore Street this afternoon.

He said the terraced house, which was the provisional government's final refuge before it surrendered to British forces in 1916, was of significant historic importance.

The minister urged Dublin City Council to preserve the building within the north inner city's redevelopment plan.
