Pubs and restaurants to be warned about smokers’ litter
Junior Minister Batt O'Keefe has vowed to take action to ensure that pubs and restaurants clean up litter left by smokers outside their premises.
The latest annual report from the Government's litter-monitoring body said the smoking ban had led to a signficant increase in littering by people forced to smoke outdoors.
Speaking about the matter today, Mr O'Keefe said warnings would be sent out to owners reminding them of their duty to keep the streets outside their premises clean.
