A Filipina nanny has reportedly lodged papers with the Labour Relations Commission claiming she was seriously exploited by an Irish couple.

Reports this morning said the woman was claiming that she worked up to 90 hours a week for a salary of just €32.

The reports said she had told the LRC that the couple took her passport and would only allow her to leave their Leinster home to go to the shop and drop off one of their children at school.

The woman had initially been employed by the couple in the Middle East, but they brought her back to Ireland with them in October last year.

She was reportedly sent back to the Middle East the following February when she asked questions about her pay and conditions, and is now back in the Philippines.
