Gardaí in Co Wicklow have launched a murder investigation following a fatal shooting in Bray last night.

Gardaí in Co Wicklow have launched a murder investigation following the fatal shooting of a 53-year-old man in Bray last night.

The victim was shot several times in the head and upper body at his home in Kilbride Grove just before 10.30pm.

He was pronounced dead a short time later at Loughlinstown Hospital in south Co Dublin.

The scene of the shooting has been sealed off for technical examination later today, while a post mortem will also be carried out on the body.

A motive for the murder has also yet to be established, but gardaí are appealing for information about a man seen leaving the area shortly after the killing.
