Well-known horse breeder murdered in Co Waterford
Gardaí in Co Waterford are investigating the murder of a well-known horse breeder at his home near Tramore yesterday.
Dick Forristal's body was found by a friend who called to his Carrigavantry stud farm at around 2.30pm yesterday.
The 62-year-old is believed to have been killed after disturbing burglars when he returned from the funeral of Tara Whelan, the Co Waterford girl killed in last weekend's bomb attack in Turkey.
He is believed to have suffered gunshot wounds.
Gardaí have sealed off his house, farm and surrounding fields as part of their search for the murder weapon.
