The number of industrial disputes in Ireland halved last year when compared with 2003, according to the Labour Relations Commission.

In its annual report for 2004, the Commission said more than 20,700 working days were lost during the year as a result of 11 disputes, most of them in the services, manufacturing and health sectors.
