Coughlan to discuss sugar reforms with EU agriculture chief

Minister for Agriculture Mary Coughlan is expected to relay Irish concerns about planned sugar industry reforms to EU Agriculture Commissioner Mariann Fischer Boel today.

Yesterday, the European Commission proposed major cuts in sugar subsidies that could wipe out the sugar sector in Ireland.
