Six people were arrested today as part of the investigation into the murder of a 29-year-old man in west Dublin last month.

Gardaí confirmed five men and one woman are being questioned in relation to the shooting dead of Joseph Rafferty outside his apartment at Hayward Court in the Ongar Park housing estate near Clonsilla on April 12 last.

The six people were arrested in the city centre area this morning and are being held in various garda stations around west Dublin.

They are being held under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act and can be detained for up to 72 hours.

Mr Rafferty, a single man, was originally from the south inner city but had been living in the west Dublin apartment for a year.

At the time of the shooting, his family said they had no idea why Mr Rafferty was targeted.
