Police probe link in drugs seizures
A seizure of €500,000 worth of drugs in Co Cork last night is believed to be linked to similar raids in Northern Ireland.
Up to seven kilos of cocaine and a quantity of cannabis was discovered by detectives from the Garda National Drugs Unit during a planned search of a premises in the Timoleague area.
No arrests have yet been made in connection with the seizure.
A garda spokesman added: “Investigations are continuing. Gardaí are liaising with the Police Service of Northern Ireland in connection with this.”
Three men are being questioned today after a major cocaine seizure in Northern Ireland last night.
Police said they had disrupted a drugs factory following raids in the Dungannon area of Co Tyrone.
Forensic experts were called in to examine all the equipment discovered in the operation staged yesterday.
A PSNI spokeswoman would confirm only that officers had netted “a very significant haul of cocaine“.
She added that three men had been arrested as part of the investigation.
