DUP slams UUP approach to policing and justice

The Democratic Unionist Party has accused its main rival of drawing up a secret deal 18 months ago which would have led to an all-Ireland dimension on policing and justice.

In a party political broadcast last night, DUP deputy leader claimed to know what was in the deal negotiated between Sinn Féin and the Ulster Unionist Party in autumn 2003.

Mr Robinson claimed the agreement would have seen Sinn Féin welcomed back into government without the completion of IRA decommissioning.

He also claimed it would have seen Gerry Kelly becoming Justice Minister in the Northern Executive.
