A woman was killed today in a three-car collision in Co Donegal.

A woman was killed today in a three-car collision in Co Donegal.

The accident happened at Bankhead, Redcastle on the main Derry to Moville road at 3.45am.

A Garda spokesman said the woman, 22, was a passenger in a car which collided with two other cars. Six other people were injured and were taken to Letterkenny Hospital in Donegal and Altnagelvin Hospital in Derry.

One of the people is said to be in a serious condition.

Meanwhile, a six-year-old boy was killed in Co Carlow yesterday when he was struck by a car at 4.20pm.

Gardaí are investigating the incident, which took place at Ballybar.
