Marine centre set to get €2m funding

Tourism Minister John O'Donoghue, today announced plans to give €2m in capital funding for the development of a marine conservation and education centre in north Dublin.

Plans to give €2m in capital funding for the development of a marine conservation and education centre in north Dublin were announced today.

The funding is being provided an allocation under the Tourism Product Development provision for Fáilte Ireland.

The Irish Seal Sanctury, the promoters of the new Marine Conservation Centre, has been in operation for 18 years in Garristown, Fingal, Dublin.

"The intention is to develop a purpose-built marine conservation centre which will add to the tourist attractions of north Co Dublin," said Tourism Minister John O'Donoghue.

The development plans for the project will be negotiated between the Irish Seal Sanctury and Fáilte Ireland.
