Surgery cancelled at Midland Hospital after virus outbreak
The Midland Regional Hospital in Tullamore, Co Offaly, has reportedly been forced to cancel operations due to an outbreak of the winter vomiting bug.
Reports this morning said all elective orthopaedic surgery had been cancelled at the hospital due to an outbreak of the virus in the orthopaedic unit.
Three patients have been affected by the virus and anyone with symptoms have been asked to stay away from the hospital.
Children have also been temporarily banned from visiting.
