The Tánaiste Mary Harney has said the arrest of seven people this week in connection with alleged IRA money-laundering backs up the Government's stance on IRA criminality.

More than €3m worth of sterling and euro bank notes was also seized during the arrest operation, including Northern Bank notes, but gardaí said it was too early to say if any of the cash was stolen during the £26.5m (€38m) bank raid in Belfast in December.
