€6.37m for regional airports

Minister for Transport Martin Cullen has announced more than €6.37m in funding for the maintenance and development of the country's six regional airports for the period 2005 - 2007.

The Minister also announced the commencement of an EU procurement process for the renewal of the Public Service Obligation (PSO) air service contracts on routes linking Dublin with the regional

airports.

The funding announced today will be divided as follows:

- Donegal - €1,009,000

- Sligo - €180,000

- Knock - €2,013,000

- Galway - €692,000

- Waterford - €1,980,000

- Kerry - €500,000
