Some 28,000 people have called the National Smokers' Quitline since it was established two years ago, according to figures released today by the Department of Health.

Some 28,000 people have called the National Smokers' Quitline since it was established two years ago, according to figures released today by the Department of Health.

In a review of the National Health Promotion Strategy, the department also said research showed 7,000 people had quit smoking in the six months between November 2003 and April 2004.
