Dublin City Council report calls for greater community policing

A Dublin City Council report has called for the appointment of 10 new District Court judges in the city.

The report, which was presented to the Minister for Justice Michael McDowell this evening, calls for greater community policing.

It also calls for the testing of a special "problem-solving" court in the city.

Mr McDowell has said it makes sense for the local authority to have a say on policing in Dublin.
