46 jobs to go at Cavan paint roller plant
Forty-six jobs are to go with the closure of the Ezy Koter plant in Co Cavan.
Management at the company in Virginia, which manufactures paint rollers, blames labour costs, saying similar products can be produced in China for a fraction of the cost.
SIPTU has negotiated a severance package for workers.
The union has said the timing of the announcement, which comes as a major Government and trade delegation visits China, is not lost on the workers.
