Focus on Africa in poverty drive

A UN plan to lift 500 million people out of extreme poverty within a decade can be achieved, it was claimed tonight.

Minister of State at the Department of Foreign Affairs Conner Lenihan said the debt goals would be achieved if industrialised nations invested just 0.5% of their income.
