A brother-in-law of Detective Garda Jerry McCabe has accused the Government of breaking its promise that his IRA killers would serve their full sentences.

The Taoiseach, Bertie Ahern, told the Dáil yesterday he would be recommending the release of the four men as part of a deal to secure complete IRA decommissioning.
