French vessel detained for alleged fishing breaches

The Irish Naval Service has detained a French-registered fishing vessel on suspicion of breaching fishing regulations.

The Agoretta was detained by the LE Niamh off the Kerry coast and is currently being towed to Castletownbere.

Officials from the Department of the Marine will inspect the vessel when it arrives at the Co Cork port this afternoon.
