Fatal Monaghan car crash leaves one woman dead

A woman was fatally injured this afternoon when her car was involved in a collision with another vehicle near Clontibret in Co Monaghan.

The crash happened on the main Derry to Dublin Road just before 3pm.

The Gardaí said no-one else was seriously hurt.

Earlier in Donegal, a man in his early 20's died near Muff this morning.

No other vehicle was involved in the accident which happened at Grainne's Gap, Carnamoyle at 10.30am.

Neither victim's name has yet been released.
