Taoiseach welcomes Dublin bombings report

The Taoiseach Bertie Ahern today welcomed the report of the Independent Commission of Inquiry into the Dublin bombings of 1972 and 1973.

The report also deals with the Belturbet bombing of December 1972 and the murders of Bríd Carr, Oliver Boyce and Bríd Porter as well as other incidents.

Mr Ahern said the report will shed further light on the "terrible events in Dublin and the border region at a very dark time in our history".

"I hope that the Remembrance Fund Commission, which has begun its work in providing assistance to victims, will be able to help the victims of these outrages," he added.
