A 26-year-old man is recovering in hospital after being injured in a shooting incident in Limerick early this morning.

A 26-year-old man is recovering in hospital after being injured in a shooting incident in Limerick early this morning.

The victim sustained head injuries in the shooting at St Ita's Street, which happened at around 2.15am.

His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Gardaí are investigating.
