Schoolchildren celebrate National Tree Day

Hundreds of thousands of school children are taking part in National Tree Day, which is aimed at creating awareness about the importance of trees.

Primary school children across Ireland will spend the day learning about trees while taking part in guided woodland walks.

John McLoughlin, of the Tree Council of Ireland says they have received a great response from both teachers and parents.
