Dublin Fun Run in aid of the homeless
Up to 3,000 people are expected to take part in a five-mile race in Dublin today to raise money for a homeless charity.
The Simon Fun Run, in aid of the Dublin Simon Community, is one of the longest running charity events in the capital.
Over the past 21 years, more than 25 thousand people of all ages and fitness levels have taken part in the race and raised over half a million euro for the charity.
Sky's Grainne Seoige is to launch the event which gets underway at 2.30pm in the Phoenix Park.
Organiser Joanne Byrne said anyone wishing to take part should turn up at around midday to fill in an entrance form and pay the entry fee of 18 euro.
All proceeds go towards the Community’s work with the homeless.
