Parents most concerned about drug-taking, violence in films
Drug-taking and violence are the main concerns for Irish parents when it comes to the films their children are watching, according to a survey published today by the Film Censor.
The survey found that parents were also concerned about racial references and drug-taking in films, but sexual content was found to be less of a concern and bad language was low down the priority list.
Most respondents also said they regularly checked classifications before allowing their children to watch a film and two-thirds usually agreed with the censor’s rating.
The survey was published to coincide with a new website launched by Film Censor today.
