Rotting materials and cramped conditions at Ennis National School have forced teachers to call the stoppage for October 7 after deferring the action since last February, pending a response from the Department of Education.

Principal Gary Stack said that teaching children in prefabs isn't the answer, and has a detrimental effect on the children.
