Families moved after attack

Two Portuguese families were moved from their homes in Armagh today following an early-morning attack.

The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) were called to three apartments in Moeran Park, Portadown at 1.30am.

The doors had been kicked and battered, causing the glass to shatter.

Police arranged temporary accommodation for the Portuguese couple and their two children, aged four and six, who were living in one of the apartments. A brother-in-law and two sisters of the couple, all aged in their 20s, were also moved.

A PSNI spokeswoman appealed for anyone who had noticed suspicious activity in the Moeran Park estate to come forward.
