Two men held over death of Malawian woman

Gardaí in Dublin are continuing to question two men in connection with the death of a 25-year-old Malawian woman whose body was found in Kilkenny last month.

The two are being held at Store Street and the Bridewell Garda Stations. The badly decomposed body of Paiche Onyemaechi was discovered near Piltown, Co Kilkenny, just over three weeks ago.

She had been missing from her home in Waterford for several weeks before her body was found.

Ms Onyemaechi was the daughter of the chief justice of Malawi, Leonard Unyolo, and had been living in Ireland for four years.

Gardaí have said that they are concerned for the safety of her Nigerian husband, who is also missing.
