The Food Safety Authority has advised consumers to disregard spurious health claims attributed to a new fruit juice being imported into Ireland.

Noni juice comes from a fruit grown in Polynesia and has only been available in Europe since 2003.

The FSA said there is no scientific evidence to support claims that the juice can cure or prevent diseases.
