'Half-hearted' confrontation of Bush not enough for protestors

The Irish Anti-War movement is criticising the Taoiseach for failing to properly confront President George W Bush over foreign policy issues.

After yesterday's EU/US summit in Co Clare, the Taoiseach said that he received comprehensive answers from the US president over the mistreatment of Iraqi prisoners by American troops.

Bertie Ahern also claimed that Europe and the US share the same values and commitment to human rights.

Richard Boyd-Barrett, Chairman of the Irish Anti-War Movement, says he is not satisfied that the US President was properly challenged, and says the key issue for Irish people who demonstrated against the Bush visit remains unresolved.
