The Taoiseach and Britain's Prime Minister tonight committed both governments to trying to break the political deadlock in the North by this June.

With Unionists demanding that both governments get tough with Sinn Féin over its links to an active IRA, Bertie Ahern and Tony Blair insisted there needed to be a clear break from paramilitary activity if the process is to move forward.
