European police chiefs meeting in Dublin this week

The European Chiefs of Police Task Force is due to meet over the next two days at Dublin Castle.

The European Chiefs of Police Task Force is due to meet over the next two days at Dublin Castle.

The meeting is being hosted by Garda Commissioner Noel Conroy and will be opened this morning by Justice Minister Michael McDowell.

The task force includes representatives from the 15 EU member states, the 10 accession states, EU applicant countries, Norway and Iceland.

How to tackle terrorism is expected to top the agenda at this week’s meeting, but other items up for discussion include cyber crime, organised crime and security for the Euro 2004 championships in Portugal and the Olympic Games in Greece.
