Ryanair seeks to keep Dublin Airport open during strikes
Ryanair has called on Aer Rianta to devise a plan to keep Dublin Airport open in the event of any future industrial action.
SIPTU members at Aer Rianta were due to go on strike for six hours today, but the stoppage was called off earlier this week.
Despite this, Ryanair said back-up personnel from Dublin Fire Brigade or the army should be trained to provide fire cover in the event of future strikes.
Spokesman Paul Fitzsimmons said this would help the authorities keep the airport open if SIPTU members went on strike at a future date.
