About 80% of Irish men are unwilling to speak to their doctors about impotence, according to the Sexual Dysfunction Information Bureau, and are running the risk of other conditions remaining undiagnosed.

About 80% of Irish men are unwilling to speak to their doctors about impotence, according to the Sexual Dysfunction Information Bureau, and are running the risk of other conditions remaining undiagnosed.

Doctors are encouraging anyone suffering erectile dysfunction to get checked out because it may be a symptom of something more serious such as diabetes, heart disease, prostate disease or high cholesterol.

Dr Edward Fitzgerald, from the Sexual Dysfunction Information Bureau, claims the condition is much more widespread than people think.
