Rescue services on call in Comeragh Mountains

South-Eastern mountain rescue are on a call out to rescue an injured hillwalker in the Comeragh mountains of Co Waterford.

The Waterford rescue helicopter attempted to reach the casualty earlier this afternoon but were forced back by low cloud and turbulent winds.

The walker, who was in a group of four, is not believed to be badly injured but it is expected that the rescue will take several hours owing to the poor ground, bad weather and approaching darkness.
