FG: Southern consumers paying 'significantly higher prices'
Fine Gael has claimed that consumers in the Republic pay significant higher prices for wine, spirits, beer and home-heating oil than their counterparts in the North.
The party said figures it received from the Department of Finance showed that people south of border paid 44% more for home-heating oil, 43% more for a long-neck bottle of beer, 36% more for vodka and 23% more for wine.
