Victims group expresses dissatisfaction with Barron Report

The Justice for the Forgotten pressure group has told the Oireachtas justice committee that the Barron Report failed to establish the full truth about the Dublin and Monaghan bombings.

The committee is currently investigating whether a public inquiry into the 1974 attacks is warranted.

A solicitor for Justice for the Forgotten, which represents victims of the bombings, said today that there were several areas that had not been fully investigated by Justice Henry Barron, whose report found no evidence of British collusion in the Dublin and Monaghan bombings.

Thirty-three people died when loyalist paramilitaries detonated three car bombs in Dublin and one in Monaghan on May 17, 1974. Justice for the Forgotten is seeking a full public inquiry into the atrocity.
