Technical investigation after Cork attack

A technical examination is underway in Cork where a 13-year old girl was allegedly raped last night.

The incident happened on Little Hanover Street near the city centre, when the victim and her friend were attacked by up to eight teenagers.

The girl was taken to the Mercy Hospital where she is being treated for her injuries.

Gardaí have sealed off the area and will question the victim this afternoon.
