FG consumer survey dismissed by Tesco

Tesco has dismissed the survey carried out by Fine Gael into the prices being charged by British chain stores in Ireland, as being highly selective.

Fine Gael has claimed that British chain stores with outlets here are ripping off Irish consumers.

The supermarket giant has said there are significant cost differences between the two economies.

Tesco Director of Corporate Affairs, Dermot Breen, has said it is totally unreasonable to take a basket of just 5 items over 25 thousand products it is totally distorted and misleading.
