NDA drafts ethics for disability research

The National Disability Authority is drafting ethical guidelines for those involved in research with disabled people.

It says measures are needed to protect the rights of those involved in areas like consent and confidentiality.

It is calling for a national committee to oversee all disability research.

The head of research at the NDA, Mary Van Lieshout, says a system of rules that is fair to all is needed.
