The Irish Cigarette Machine Operators Association has announced plans to sell herbal cigarettes in pubs following the introduction of the Government’s proposed ban on smoking in the workplace.

The association said it believed herbal cigarettes were exempt from the ban because they contained no tobacco.

Last August, the ICMOA predicted that 450 people working in the cigarette machine industry would lose their jobs due to the smoking ban, which is due to come into force in mid-February.
