FG attacks NRA on motorway guidelines

Fine Gael has criticised the National Roads Authority for what the party claims is a breach of EU guidelines on motorway crash barriers.

The party's transport spokesperson, Denis Naughton, says the EU is threatening to withhold €40m in funding unless the NRA complies with the regulations.

Mr Naughton says the erection of chicken wire on the central reservation is not a sufficient safety measure.
